Other Methods for Breast Reconstruction
Other methods of breast reconstruction exist, mainly in additional types of soft tissue flaps using the patient''s own tissue.
These methods include flaps such as the anterior lateral thigh (ALT) flap from the outer thign or the transverse gracilis flap which uses the tissue from the inner thigh.
These flaps are quite uncommonly used in North America mainly because the other procedures discussed above provide better tissue with a better donor site. Dr. Granzow will be happy to discuss all options for breast reconstruction with you.
